RIVER VALE’S WOODSIDE STUDENTS SCHEDULED TO APPEAR ON NJN

River Vale, NJ, April 16, 2003 -- NJN is set to feature River Vale students and the Ridgewood Symphony Orchestra as part of NJN’s Classroom Close-Up to air at 6:30 p.m., April 28 (Monday), and at 7 a.m., May 3 (Saturday), the school announced today.

River Vale students from the Woodside School are expected to be showcased on one of four segments during the half-hour program. NJN’s crew recently taped a performance of Project Symphony, where the Ridgewood Symphony Orchestra brings a full-concert orchestra into the schools with programs designed especially for elementary- or middle-school students. NJN interviewed four, fourth-grade students, and taped a musician’s visit to a classroom.

Ed Moderacki, a River Vale School District music teacher and assistant conductor for the symphony, helped bring the orchestra to both district elementary schools, Roberge and Woodside.

“This is a great way for our students to learn about, and learn to love, music,” Moderacki said.
