EMERGENCY SCHOOL CLOSING

Except in cases of emergency or action by the Board of Education school will be kept open according to the school calendar. The emergency closing of school is usually due to extremely hazardous weather conditions. Parents will be notified by:

  1. The local fire whistle which will blow one blast at 7:00 am
  2. Contact WOR Radio Website at www.wor7lO.com for school closing. Do not call the Police Department for school closing information.
  3. Information concerning emergency school closings may be obtained by calling  201-358-4000.    

DELAYED SCHOOL OPENING

The option of calling for a delayed opening of school due to inclement weather conditions is now available to our regional school district. Such a decision will be made on a regional basis and only when it is apparent that weather related conditions such as icy roads will dramatically improve during the a.m. hours.

  1. All starting times including bus pickups and reporting times for students will be set back 1 1/2 hours.
  2. Staff reporting time will be delayed 1 V4 hours. (Times are approximate.)

TRANSPORTATION

All student bus pickups will be at the regularly designed stops, but 1 1/2 hours later than the usual pickup. This includes all students transported from or out of region districts.
