Introduction:

Ø     We have been studying insects.

Ø     You have already learned that an entomologist’s job is to study bugs and insects.

Ø     Today you will be taking a closer look at the ladybug.

Ø     This is an interesting insect with some unique characteristics to learn about.

 

Task:

Ø      Today you will be taking on a new job. You are an Entomologist.

Ø      A special task is waiting for you.

Ø      Research and study the ladybug and learn many interesting facts.

Ø     Label and color the ladybug drawing.

Ø      Label and color the ladybug life cycle.

Ø      Find at least 1 fact about the ladybug.

Process:

Ø     Let's get started!  There is a lot to be done.

Ø     You can visit as many websites that will help with your research.

Ø      Label the ladybug’s body parts on the drawing of the ladybug.

o       That means show me where the head, antennae, legs and elytra-wing covering.

Ø     Label the life cycle of the ladybug

Ø     You need to record one fact about this beetle on the back of your paper

spotted beetle.
