Introduction

You are a travel agent working for The World Wide Web Travel Agency. The agency has asked you to create a "travel page" on a country for a big advertising campaign that is attempting to attract tourists to visit your country.

Task

You will create a slideshow about your country for presentation to prospective tourist using Microsoft PowerPoint.

v     Your presentation will highlight the attractions that will encourage tourists to visit your country. You will need to include any information that might be helpful for a tourist visiting your country for the first time.

v     This information might include such things as: what the region is famous for, "not to be missed" sites, things to do, weather information, general facts about the major cities, population, history, transportation systems, topography (the lay of the land), culture, sports, currency, monuments, museums, cities, historical sites, annual events, and anything else that you feel is important.

Remember that the purpose of your "slide show" will be to create interest in your country so that the tourist will be encouraged to visit. As a result, your presentation should be visually attractive and informative. Include some pictures that will help to illustrate the countries major attractions. You might even want to create a catchy travel slogan for your country.

Process

  1. Choose a country of your heritage that you would like to learn more about.
  2. Decide which aspects of your country you would like to present in your slideshow keeping in mind that your goal is to attract tourists to the country. Determine what it is about the country that would be of interest to tourists.
  3. Once you have determined the content areas of your presentation create an outline on paper. Each Roman numeral will represent one slide.
  4. Do more research on each topic. Remember to visit the library for books. Take notes as you do you research. Save pictures to your folder if you think that they might help illustrate each topic.
  5. Decide what text you will use on your page. The text should clearly explain the topic that you are presenting.
  6. Look at it often in Slideshow mode to determine what it will look like when you present it on a big screen.
