Steve received his Bachelor's Degree from Vassar College and graduated with a Law Degree from the Fordham University School of Law.  He is an attorney with his own office located in Closter, New Jersey.  Steve and his wife, Jane, have lived in River Vale for over 20 years with their three children, all of whom attended River Vale schools.  Steve is also the Chairperson of the Negotiations Committee.  Steve is the longest standing member of the Board, serving as Trustee since 2008, and serving as Board President since January, 2022.

Patrice and her husband, John have lived in River Vale for 24 years. They have three children who are products of the River Vale school system.  Patrice was raised in the Bronx until middle school when her family relocated to Bergenfield. She received a BA in History and a Master’s in Education from Fordham University.  Patrice taught for two years in the Bronx then taught grades 2-4 for the next 15 years in River Edge.  She left teaching to raise her children and focused much of her time and energies to giving back to the community, serving as the PTA’s liaison and on the Parent Advisory Committee, volunteering in the local schools, teaching religious education and donating time to the local food pantry. Patrice is currently the Chairperson of the Finance Committee.  Patrice has been a Trustee since 2015 and Board Vice President since January, 2022.

Jamie joined the Board in October 2022 filling the remaining unexpired term of a former Trustee.  Jamie is an elementary school teacher in Ramsey with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and an Elementary Education Certification from Muhlenberg College.   She also holds a Masters in Educational Technology from Ramapo College.  Jamie and her husband, Ben, have lived in River Vale for eleven years and are the parents of two young daughters. Their oldest daughter is currently a student at Holdrum Middle School and their youngest is a student at Woodside Elementary School. Jamie has been very active in the community since moving here. She served as Cookie Manager and Fall Products Chairperson for her daughters' Girl Scout Troops, Read-a-Thon Chairperson for the Woodside PTA and as a Class Mother.  Also, Jamie previously served the district as a member of the Referendum and Restart Committees as well.

Louan was recently re-elected for a second term as a Board Member. During her first term, she served on the Curriculum & Technology Committee and Buildings & Grounds Committee and previously served as Chairperson of the Personnel Commitee. Professionally, Louan is a Photographer and brings a strong interest and experience in special education, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy and adaptive learning. Louan and her husband, Adam, have been River Vale residents for 10 years and are the parents of two daughters. Their older daughter attends Pascack Valley Regional High School, while their younger daughter is educated in an alternative learning environment. Louan is passionate about community and school volunteerism, previously serving in roles such as PTA Lunch Chair, PTA Photo Day Chair, Girl Scout Leader and Town Cookie Manager, as well as a Class Mother.

Cheryl is in her second full term as a Board Trustee.  She currently chairs the Communications & Policy Committee and serves on the Buildings & Grounds and Curriculum & Technology Committees.  Cheryl completed her undergraduate work at Pace University and has a Master of Arts in Teaching Degree and Educational Leadership.  Cheryl served on the district's citizen-based referendum committee, chaired the Communications Committee for the the River Vale PTA and was a teacher for the gifted and talented and educational technology programs for the Ramsey School District.  A graduate of Holdrum Middle School, Cheryl and her husband, Erick, enjoy living and raising their family in River Vale.  They have two children at Pascack Valley Regional High School; one graduating in June 2026 and their youngest in June 2029.

Our newest Board Member comes to us with a career in Human Resources, a strong foundation in supporting people, strengthening organizations and utilizing strategic problem-solving. Emily attended the University of Rhode Island and has a Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Psychology. Emily and her husband, Dan, have resided in River Vale for 7 years and are the parents of two children. Their oldest, a daughter, attends Holdrum Middle School and their son attends Woodside Elementary School. Emily is on the Executive Board of the RVPTA, chairs the RV Cheer Showcase for the RVJFA and assists her husband with administrative duties for the RV Pre-K and K T-Ball League. Emily believes that strong schools build strong communities and looks forward to advocating for student and educator success to ensure our district remains a place where every child can thrive.

Mr. White is serving his second full term as a Board Trustee.  Arthur received his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Seton Hall University and is currently a Law Enforcement Officer in Bergen County where he serves as a School Liaison Officer for his department and as a former Union President.  Arthur and his wife, Julie, and family have lived in River Vale for over ten years.  Mr. White volunteers on the Ski Trip Committee at Holdrum, where one of his children is a student.  Arthur also has an elementary student in the district and another two children who have graduated from Holdrum Middle School.
